If you have walked past 119 N. Seventh in the last few months, you have seen the caution tape and the plywood, and you have probably heard three different rumors about what is going in. Here is the short version. The building that held Junct'n Square Pizza for the better part of five decades is becoming something new, the pizza itself is not gone but has moved, and the two changes together are the biggest reshuffling of downtown's dining core in years.
That is the frame worth holding onto. Downtown Grand Junction is not simply adding restaurants this year. Two of its most recognizable addresses are trading hands at the same time, and the direction of travel says something about where the city's food gravity is heading next.
